BERLIN ON ALERT
“ALLIED SURPRISE” AMERICANS INFORMED (Reed May 9, 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, May 8. The German Embassy, in a statement, said to-day: “Berlin is on the alert agamst an Allied surprise attack elsewhere than the Balkans to which the British fleet in the Mediterranean has tended to divert attention.”
