“DUDE RANCH”
DARWIN ATTRACTION BUFFALO HUNTS SYDNEY, May 1. A “dude ranch” is to be established in Arnhem Land. North Australia, for wealthy tourists. The ranch will be the main attraction for visitors to a £70,000 luxury hotel which is being built in Darwin by an Adelaide syndicate. An auxiliary ketch will take guests to the ranch, 200 miles east oi Darwin for big-game shooting. The Arnhem Land “ranch” is actually the headquarters of William Black, Northern Territory buffalo shooter and barrister. While out on the hunt, tlie sportsmen will live in camps under realistic big-game shooting conditions. Expeditions will be directed by expert buffalo and crocodile hunters assisted by natives. Tlie scheme will begin as soon as the new hotel opens at tlie end oi June. Tlie syndicate is considering arranging return flights to Darwin for tourists from Sydney. Melbourne, and Adelaide, all less than [wo days by commercial aeroplane from Darwin.
