BADMINTON HALL

HANGAR TO BE USED GISBORNE CLUB PLANS The decision of a special general meeting of the Gisborne Badminton Club to use the hangar at the Darton Field aerodrome has solved the problem of suitable accommodation for the club. It was announced last night that a bus service would be available from town providing sufficient support was given by members. The meeting was presided over by the club captain, Mr. E. East, in the Oddfellows’ Hall, and there was a good attendance of members, who were interested also in the start of the season. The opening night at Darton Field probably will be on Tuesday next, but will depend on the amount of work to be carried out by a working-bee before the new building is ready for play. The opening night will be advertised in the Herald on Monday At the conclusion of the meeting the patron of the club, Mr. R. A. Mitchell, declared the season open and players took part in friendly matches.
