The Admiralty, in describing the desperate efforts of the German air force to counter the power of the Allied navies, says that one British vessel was subjected to 40 bombing attacks one day, but escaped being hit, and shot down four raiders and seriously damaged another two. A vessel covering the transport of troops shot down five enemy planes in three days.
