OBITUARY

MR. A. F. LEI PST With tiie death of Mr. Alfred Frederick Leipst, which occurred on Monday night, Hastings has lost one of its oldest and most prominent citizens. Born in Copenhagen. Denmark, in 1864, the late Mr. Leipst was brought up as a boiler-maker and on his arrival in Napier, in 1878, he immediately went to Hastings, where for many years he was employed by Messrs. Knight Brothers. Later he turned his attention to well-sinking and carried on this business on his own account right up to recent years. He was predeceased by his wife only, last month and to mourn his death he leaves two sons, Mr. Leslie Leipst, Wellington, and Mr. W. Leipst, Hastings, and five daughters. Mrs. T. Goggin, Melbourne; Mrs. C. Thomsen, Auckland; Mrs. W. Aitcheson, Sydney; Miss M. Leipst, lady superintendent of the Cook Hospital, Gisborne: and Sister E. Leipst, Dannevirke Hospital.
