Motorists, Beware of Bees
Bees have been responsible ..for several motor accidents lately, according to information received by the Transport Department. On at least three occasions last month, the presence of a bee in a car has resulted in the vehicle leaving the road. On February 23, a Petone carrier was driving along the main road north of Paraparaumu when a bee alighted on his neck. While he was trying to dislodge it, the lorry swerved and hit a telegraph pole, smashing it in two and severely damaging the lorry.
