AUSTRALIAN PROSPECT FINANCES FOR WAR (Rood. March 28, 11.50 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 27. Very heavy increases in taxation throughout Australia in order to finance the war efforts are likely when the Commonwealth Government brings down its Budget in the middle of April which will be much sooner than usual.

The Federal Ministry, at present sitting in Sydney, is devoting itself to the task of recasting the whole field of finance and finding new avenues of taxation. It is aiming also at raising loans abroad as well as internally.
