MESSAGE FROM POPE AID TO CATHOLICS (Reed. March 4, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, March 3. The Pope, through Bishop Bernard Sheil of Chicago, thanked the sponsor of the united Jewish appeal for refugees for the donation of £30,000 for Roman Catholic refugees from religious persecution. Bishop Sheil sent a letter to the chairman of the Jewish appeal saying that the Pope was deeply moved.
