OBITUARY

MR. HARRY C. BEACH OLD COAST RESIDENT WELL-KNOWN SPORTSMAN Much regret will be felt concerning the death of Mr. Harry C. Beach, which occurred yesterday in Ruatoria. Mr. Beach had resided on the East Coast for the greater part of his 70 years, and was one of the best-known tradesmen and small farmers between Gisborne and East Cape. Keenly interested in all forms of sport, he was especially enthusiastic about racing, and at one time raced horses on his own account. A good business man, Mr. Beach conducted a butchery business in Ruatoria, and his mixed farming operations also yielded fine results under his expert management He is survived by a large family, to whom the sympathy of many friends will be extended.
