CHRISTCHURCH DECLINE
£23,000 FOR MONTH ‘ A decline el £23,151 in customs revenue is shown in Christchurch for February, compared with the corresponding month last year. The return for the 11 months of the financial year is higher by £37,006. The largest decline for February is in customs, which show a reduction of £28,367, but gains in other revenue reduce the total decline to £23,151. The figures are as follows, figures for 1939 being given first: Customs, £104,202, £75,835; b<*er, £10,114. £16,567; petrol, £25,996, £23,503; tyres, £1760, £549; sales tax, £34,653, £31,383; light dues, £685, £527; export levies, wool, £368, £324; meat, £1205, ; miscellaneous, £75, £7219; totals, £179,058, £155,907.
