VIEWS ON CHURCHILL
CHEERS IN COMMONS NAZI JUDGE’S VENOM LONDON. Jan. 21. The Government members of the House of Commons loudly cheered the First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. Winston Churchill, when he entered the Chamber yesterday. The cheers were presumably an expression of approval for the Altmarck exploit. The Zurich correspondent of the Paris newspaper Le Soir says a German military court at Detmold fined a husband for what the judge called “gravely insulting his wife.” The man said to his wife: “You are as big a liar as Churchill.”
