INCIDENT IN HOTEL
ASSAULT ALLEGED SUPREME COURT TRIAL Following an incident in the Coi'onation Hotel on January 27, Walter Randolph Hogg stood trial before Mr. Justice Callan and jury in th f Supreme Court in Gisborne to-day on a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm to Walter James Robertson. Mr. J. S Wauchop appeared for the accused. The following jury was empanelled: William G. F. Bignell, foreman, James Crawford, William O’Donnell, Robert Elliott, Reginald E. Weston, David Lee, Edric Lyndon, James T. Gordon, Oliver Thodey, Thomas Rhodes, William H. Dymond, arid Alexander O. Clare. Following an outline of the evidence given by the Crown Prosecutor, Mr. F. W. Nolari, evidence was given by Robertson, who said he was a professional boxer but would not have “taken on” a man of Hogg’s weight and boxing and wrestling experience. Two bones in the witness’s left leg were broken during the incident'. (Proceeding)
