SHEEP SELLS AT £34

FLAG-DAY EFFORT ThO public response to the flag-day effort of the East Coast Provincial Patriotic Council in Gisborne to-day was ready and generous, £2OO being in the hands qf the committee from town sales at 2 p.m. A sheep provided by Mr. . Chas. Matthews for sale for patriotic purposes at the Matawhero saleyards was bought and bought again, the total yield from the auction being £34. A number of special donations were received by the committee, including an allocation of £22 15s from the Waerenga-o-kuri Sports Club.
