Rising Costs
The rise in prices since the estimates were formulated for the Onehunga Borough Council’s proposed loan of £15,100 for waterworks extensions was disclosed by the borough engincre, Mr. R. D. Baker, at the latest meeting of the council. Mr. Baker reported that at the instance of the Local Government Loans Board he had reviewed his original estimate of £15,000 made in February, 1939, and found that to-day the same works would cost £17,600, an increase of 17.3 per cent,
