Tribute of Sympathy

The funeral of Master Gordon Douglas Irvine, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Irvine, which took place this morning at the Taruheru cemetery, afforded the occasion for a moving tribute of sympathy to the bereaved parents. There was a large attendance of friends of the family, both at Cochrane’s chapel, where a short service was held before the departure of the funeral, and at the graveside. The Rev. A. J. H. Dow conducted the last rites, and members of the Gisborne Bowling Club, of which Mr. Irvine has become a member since his removal to Gisborne, acted as pall-bearers. The floral emblems were unusually numerous and varied in design.
