SPECTACULAR BLAZE

In one of the most spectacular fires iri recent months that has occurred outside an urban area, the twostoreyed dwelling of Mr. Matthew Brodie, situated alongside the Waiohiki golf links, H. 8.. was completely destroyed on Monday night. Mr. Brodie’s misfortune is made the more severe by the total loss of much valuable plate and china, which cduld not be removed before the blaze had taken complete possession of 'the building. Family heirlooms in the form of silver and china, wjiich had been brought from England. were destroyed in the flames.
