Unusual Procedure

An unusual procedure in debt cases was adopted in the Napier Magistrate’s Court, when evidence was called to prove that a judgment debtor possessed means. In asking permission to call this evidence, Mr. Humphreys agreed that it was an unusual course to take. The claim, one for arrears of rent, succeeded. This practice was later adopted by Mr. C. W.
