Special Petrol Licences
A new system to replace by the issue of coupons the present system of special petrol licences applying to commercial and other regular travellers is to come into effect from March 1. Details are not yet completed, but the broad idea .is to supply cards of coupons .according to the monthly permitted quantities. It is hoped thereby to simplify present methods and to give greater flexibility in operation. The system is expected to be popular with both users and resellers of petrol. Record Entries Record entries have been received by the Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay Centre for their centennial championship athletic and cycling meeting, to be held on McLean Park, Napier, on Saturday. Every club from Dannevirke to Gisborne has nominated its champions and the entries are so large that the committee has found it necessary to conduct the meeting in two sessions, afternoon and .evening, in order to cope with the fields which will decide the 37 championship events.
