ALLEGED WOUNDING

SEQUEL TO ARGUMENT YOUNG MAN FOR TRIAL (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A butcher named Matthew Alexander Doyle, aged 25, was charged in the Police Court yesterday that on January 27, at Clark’s Beach, with intent to do grievous bodily harm to Patrick John Boland, he did wound Boland.

Evidence was given that an argument on political and religious grounds occurred at a dance hall at midnight, ending in Boland being found with a serious wound in the throat. The accused pleaded not guilty, reserved his defence and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
