FLIGHT FROM TAKAPAU

GOOD PERFORMANCES

The Poverty Bay Central Homing Pigeon Society’s third race of the young bird series was flown on Saturday from Takapau, an airline distance of 11)3 miles.

Excellent flying conditions prevailed and good performances were returned by most of the competitors. T. Crosby’s Porter Lad was the winner, being timed in at 2.114 pan., recording a velocity of 1047.8yds per minute.

Detailed results are as follows: T. Crosby’s Porter Lad, Jo47.Byds per min., 1; It. Hall’s Blue Flight, 1043yds. and R, Hall’s Blue Flight, 1043yd5., equal, 2. R, Somervell’s Dixie Boy, 1042.3yd5., u, R. Somervell’s Silver Cloud. 1041.7yd5., 5; R. Hall’s Windsor Chief, 1011.0yds., 6; D. McLean's 287, 1030.3yd5., 7; C, Waldock’s 120, 1038.8 yds., 8.

The following members’ birds also competed:—.!. McLean. M. Cook, and M. Koydcs. Next Saturday the race will be flown from Woodvilie, an airline distance of 163 miles.
