GIRL GUIDE FAREWELLED (HeraltFCorrespondimt.) Members of the Te Karaka Girl Guide Company, numbering 17, met in the Parish Hall last week to farewell Miss Rita McCauley, who, after five years service in the Brownie Pack and six years in the Guide Company, has left to live in Gisborne. During the afternoon the guest of honour, who attended the Girl Guide centennial camp, gave an interesting talk on the time spent under canvas. The captain, Miss Valda Bull, on behalf of. the company, expressed their appreciation of the account given of the camp and asked Miss McCauley to accept a crystal perfume bottle as a parting gift. Miss McCauley thanked her fellow-guides for their dainty present and the gathering closed after tea had been served.
Mrs. F. M. Price, Gisborne lias been tlie guest of iMrs. S. S. Smit'hers, Te Karaka.—Miss I. Gallic, Wellington, is spending a hbliday with her sister, Mi's. L. B. Tulioek, “Amua."—Mr. M. J. Kyne, Te Karaka, accornpanniod by his daughter, Miss Marie Kyne, has returned from a visit to Rotorua. Following the recent successful tournament, the Te Karaka Tennis Club is organising a one-dav tournament for the coming week-end. Big entries .are expected as the event is open to all tennis players.
