MAUNGARONGO
The Maungarongo Institute held its first meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. P. Reedy. Owing to the absence of the president, Mrs. R. Walker, the vice-president, Mrs. H. Te Kira presided. Correspondence from headquarters was ready by the secretary, Mrs. R. Terauna. " It was decided to arrange a soldiers’ box of knitted wear. Among those present were visitors from other institutes, Mrs. M. Eliau, and Misses 11. Houia, W. Tewhata, and R. Apuwai. The competitions resulted as follow: Embroidered Trayclolh.—Mrs. H. To Kira. 1; Mrs. R. Te Rauna, 2; Mrs. P. Reedy, 3. Pikelets—Mrs. H. Te Kira, 1, Mrs. P. Reedy, 2, Miss C. Poi, 3 Afternoon tea was served.
