Publicity Wanted, Not Penalty
“T am not asking for a penalty, but "or publicity,” -said the Transport 'department’s Inspector, Mr. R. Met’alfe, in the Police Court this mornbig when Stephen William Rees appeared before Messrs. F. J. H and T. Corson, .T.P’s.. on a charge of operating a motor-cycle ”ith another person in front of the driver. Mr. Metcalfe said that the defendant had a young child in iron! of him on the machine. The case was the first of its kind in Gisborne. It occurred often in cars, hut the offence was particularly dangerous on a motor-cycle. Rees was convicted and ordered to pay costs 10s.
