EMPEROR’S MESSAGE IMPERIAL PRESTIGE (Reed. Feb. 12. 3 n.m.) TOKIO, Feb. 11. The Emperor of Japan, in a broadcast to the nation, urged the people o use their “fundamental national genius to overcome the difficulties and hardships which the country is facing.” He said that the whole nation must stand united in order to uphold the hnperial prestige. Therefore complete co-operation of all elements was essential.
He failed to refer directly to the ampaign in China.
