MOTOR IMPORTATIONS
Fewer motor-vehicles were imported into Now Zealand last year than during any year since 1935. The total of 25,096, including 21,514 cars, showed a decline of 8368 on the figures for 1938, while the depreciation in dutiable value in comparison w'ith the previous year was £1,241,099, which was the greatest drop tor any year since 1931. 'The full value of imports was £4,188,776, as against £5,429,875 in 1938.
