MURDER BY GERMANS HORRORS IN POLAND EVEN NAZIS SHOCKED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Feb. 5, 3 p.m.) COPENHAGEN, Feb. 4. The Danish paper Politiken describes how German soldiers returning home from Poland confess the relief felt after leaving the horrors they have witnessed and shared. It is stated that court martials are continuing throughout Poland to aid in the extermination of the intelligensia who are believed to be organising passive resistance and sabotage. The number sentenced to death will never be known, but it amounts to thousands. , A German judge disclosed that it was necessary to use the biggest square at Bromberg for executions. Heaps of corpses were left throughout the day as a warning to the populace. ~ , , A message from Rotterdam states that young peasants are being recruited by Germany largely from the Hitlsr youth order to settle the annexed Polish provinces because Germans already imported are insufficient.
