LOW GAUGE READINGS

BOROUGH WATER SUPPLY PILOT PLANT TESTING Reporting to the Gisborne Borough Council last night, the borough engineer, Mr. E. R. Thomas, stated that the highest gauge reading during the past fortnight was 1221 b. and the lowest 301 b% The quantity of water that passed through the Venturi meter lor the week ended January 8 was 8,140,000 gallons, and for the week ended January 15, 9,108,000 gallons. The pilot plant had not been in operation for some time, owing to a supply of testing chemical having been used up and the difficulty of procuring a fresh supply. It was thought that a supply would be available within a day or two, on arrival of which testing would again be carried on. h
