Patrons will thrill to a new kind of crime riddle in “Charlie Chan at Treasure Island,” the newest of the 20th Century-Fox mystery thrillers which brings Sidney Toler to the King’s Theatre on Wednesday as the famous Earl Derr Diggers detective, San Francisco. While thousands frolic at the World’s Fair, a' master of the occult deals death in the weird Temple of Magic—and Charlie Chan defies the super-natural to solve the most baffling and unusual crime that hns ever confronted him. Cesar Romero and Pauline Moore head Toler’s supporting cast. The associate feature, “Sword of Honour,” is the most ambitious military picture ever turned out in a British studio. It was produced with the co-operation of the War Office and the military authorities. Its authentic , and thrilling entertainment is ensured by both story and artists. Geoffrey Toonc. Sally Gray and Dorothy Dickson are starred and supported by featured players such as Donald Gray and Wally Patch. The location is the Royal Military College at Sandhurst, and every phase of the training and commissioning of the officers is accurately shown.

On Wednesday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. —and also at Matawai on Friday—there will be screened “Song in Soho," n musical revue with leading British artists, including Sandy Powell. Winifred Holtby’s unforgettable novel, “South Riding.” now a memorable film, will be file attraction on Saturday, with a cast headed by Ralph Richardson, Edna Best, Edmund Gwenn and Anrr Todd. There will be dancing until midnight.
