The Washington correspondent of the New York Times says that the British Government is discussing the purchase of United States mines for a projected North Sea barrage. A list of American manufacturers able to supply mines has been provided officially to the British purchasing mission Officials state that the United States Navy has plenty of mines for its own use and the British authorities ' would encounter no difficulties in regard to priority to supply. Rapid large-scale production by American plants would be available.
