CARE OF SICK ANIMALS VVAIROA YOUNG FARMERS REMEDIAL MEASURES (Special to the Herald.) WAIJROA. this day. A very enlightening address on tire care'of sick animals was delivered by Mr. G. F. Hudson, stock inspector for Ihe Wairoa district, at the monthly meeting of the Wairoa Young Farmers’ Club oil Wednesday evening. The speaker briefly outlined the causes of some of the more common ailments in. animals, dealing in particular with the dairy cow. He then ’•vent on to suggest a course of simple remedy and home treatment. Mr. Hudson advocated the keeping of a small medicine chest on. every farm, and added that much sickness in animals would be easily cured if a ready supply of medicine was available. During the evening a series of impromptu speeches were delivered by 'he members present, the efforts being particularly good. Any members wishing to be junior stewards or associate judges at the A. and P. Show on January .'ll, arc requested to communicate with the secretary of the club. Mr. »V. G. 3iownlie. It was reported that a learn from the club would be selected to play a cricket fixture with the mercantile !lr.nis on January 14, the match to commence at 10.30 a.m. on the Clyde Domain.
