GISBORNE DEFENCE CLUB FOURTH HANDICAP SERIES LLOYD WINS AGGREGATE The first match of the fourth handicap series was conducted by the Gisborne Defence Rifle Club on the Mangapapa range on Saturday. The practises were at 200yds and 300yds. 10 shots being fired at each distance. At the opening range R. Bull was top-scorer with 45 net and the same marksman showed consistency when he registered 40 at 300yds. The aggregate for the two ranges was won by C. Lloyd, who netted 88 off the rifle and had the assistance of a handicap of six points. S. Pirie, handicap (i, was one point behind Lloyd in the •aggregate and R. Bull, handicap 2. was placed third with a gross 93.

Jeune, secured fifth place in the North Island championship meeting held in Wanganui. The winner was F. J. Soler, 197, with I. Ford second, 193. Jeune's aggregate was 191. His positions in the various matches were:—Wanganui match, 300yds, 48 points, sixth place; Taranaki match, 500yds, 46 points, not in prize-list; Wellington match, 600yds, 49 points, seventh place; Hawke’s Bay match, 600yds, 48 points, twelfth place; optional aggregate at 500yds and 600yds, 95 points, eighth place.
