QUIET NIGHT AT FRONT
PATROL ACTIVITY (Reed. Jan. 9, Noon.) LONDON, Jan. 8. The French official morning communique stated the night was quiet on the Western Front with patrol activity in the region west of the Vosges. A Berlin, communique says that enemy reconnaissance of the frontier in the region west of Merzig was repulsed with enemy casualties.
