An engagement is announced between Norman John, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. N. McKenzie, Derby street, Gisborne, and Merle, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Lees, Undercliffe, Sydney, New South Wales. Mr. H. G. Stevens, first assistant district engineer of railways, Mr. H. Thompson, foreman of works, Mr. S. Clough, bridge inspector, and Mr. F. Leinwebber, inspector of permanent ways, are visiting Gisborne on departmental business in connection with the lay-out of the new railway yard.
