BRITISH REQUISITION FEARS OF OWNERS POST-WAR PROBLEMS (Reed. Jan. 8, 1.50 run.) LONDON. Jan. 7. The Government’s decision to requisition shipping evoked a storm of protest. The Financial News says that if the owners are unable to earn sufficient to permit the putting by of substantial sums for post-war re-equipment of the fleets f-hev will be placed at a most serious strategic disadvantage after the war as neutral owners are piling ui) tremendous profits. On the contrary, grain circles appear to welcome the control of shipping and claim that it will ensure more effective transport of gram and ruber commodities.
