PARAMOUNT AIM WINNING WAR HORE-BELISHA LETTER CONSTITUENTS ADVISED FAITH IN THE ARMY ' INCREASING POWER (Elnc. To/. Copyright—Unito/l Press Assn.) (Reccl. Jan. 8, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 7. In a letter to his constituents, Mr. Hore-Belisha, who is M.P. for Devonport, refers to his first election to Parliament over 16 years ago. He says he worked hard in four different Government departments. “At the War Office,” he says, “it was my responsibility to reorganise drastically and prepare thoroughly the British Army for war. Many changes and enlargements were necessary, and it now takes the field in ever-growing numbers and in democratic organisation. It will acquit itself with valour and distinction if, and when, the occasion comes. “Whatever task may fall to me, I shall perform with vigour, but I have no thought at the present moment but that of winning the war.”
