The Times Rome correspondent says that diplomatic circles attach the utmost importance to the meeting today between Count Ciano and Count Csaky. It is claimed that the conversations will have a fundamental influence on the whole of Europe hitherto untouched by the war and will at least improve and stabilise the Balkans relations. The Daily Telegraph’s Rome correspondent says that the main subjects being discussed are: (1) the question of common Hungaro-Russian frontiers, the possibility of the Carpathians forming a barrier to a Russian advance in the Balkans; (2) Hungaro-Rumanian relations and the prospect of an amicable settlement of the Transylvanian dispute; (3) Hungaro-Jugo-slavian co-operation; and (4) questions arising out of the war and Italian and Hungarian co-operation in a solution thereof. It is reported that Marshal Goering may visit Rome after the discussions. y It is understood that he expressed a wish to exchange views on the general situation.
