DROWNED OFF BEACH
GIRL OF 13 YEARS CAUGHT IN STRONG SEA (Per Bress Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A drowning fatality occurred at Ocean Beach, Raglan, yesterday afternoon. The victim was Hazel Nelson, aged 13 years, daughter of Mr. W. H. Nelson, of Te Aroha. The child was bathing in a strong sea. She became separated from her aunt who was accompanying her. The body disappeared and has not yet been recovered.
MAN’S FATAL BATHE DUNEDIN BOAT HARBOUR RECOVERY OF BODY (Per -Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. A second drowning-fatality occurred at Dunedin over the week-end when Joel Dixon, aged 29 years, a labourer, of 73 Harrow street, -Dunedin, lost his life while bathing at boat harbour. He could only dog-paddle and got into difficulties in deep water and disappeared before help could be summoned. The body was quickly recovered, but artificial respiration proved unavailing. DROWNING FATALITY AIRCRAFT_ INSTRUCTOR. , (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. A tragic drowning fatality occurred at Small’s. Beach on Saturday afternoon, when Arthur Wills, an aircraft instructor employed at the air force technical training centre at the Hillside workshops, got into difficulties in the surf and lost his life. Wills, who resided at 14 Hood street, Kaikorai, was 41 years of age and a married man with a family of five.
