£SO Stolen in Rotorua
Gaining access by lifting boards In a right of way at the rear of the premises, burglars entered a billiard saloon in Tutanekai street, Rotorua, on Tuesday evening and broke onen three drawers containing the holiday takings, approximately £SO, which they removed. The saloon is conducted by Mr. R. Kelly. Exodus From Motor Camp There was an exodus yesterday morning from the motor camp at the Waikanae Beach, many of the tourists leaving Gisborne to return to work in other centres or to continue their tours of the country. Seventy-four camps occupied sites last night, compared with 82 on Wednesday evening. On Wednesday 27 parties left the camp and a further 24 cars arrived, and yesterday afternoon there were 16 arrivals. Before leaving Gisborne this morning to continue his itinerary one of the campers from the south said he had been surprised that the excellence of the camp and its facilities were not known further abroad. He knew nothing of the Gisborne camp until he reached Morere, where he had heard glowing reports from other campers. Now he considered that the beach camp compared" more than favourably with the majority of the camps in other parts of New Zealand.
