STUDENTS IN BRITAIN
STATE GRANTS SOUGHT LONDON, Dec. 1. The National Union of Students, concerned over the depletion of Britain’s i university population as a result of the war, announced recently that it would take the matter up with the Government. The union said it would press for: 1. A special grant to enable students to continue their studies; 2. Maintenance of the Government grant to universities at its pre-war level; 3. Postponement of military service for all students who have successfully completed one year of study. The union states that many students are now in a difficult economic position.
