NAZI ECONOMIC POLICY COUNTERING BLOCKADE GOERING’S WIDE POWER (Reed. Jan. 5. 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 4. It is officially announced in Berlin that Field Marshal Goering has been appointed supreme director of war industry to ensure the greatest concentration and unification of economic policy. All the war economic departments are to be combined in a general council under his presidency. FieldMarshal Goering's powers are “to meet the British blockade with a superior chess move.”
