Wedding Announcement
War weddings in the United Kingdom are being celebrated, in the main, with less than the normal festivity. The new outlook is demonstrated by an announcement card received by a former Gisborne resident, now abroad, carrying the following notification:— “Dr. —— and Miss . Owing to the international situation, the marriage arranged between John William F , only son of , of Woodford, Essex, and Annie Elizabeth, youngest daughter of , took place quietly on October 7, 1939.”
