At the Otago championships lie added to his already long list of records by lowering iho New Zealand figures for J,he 100yds. men's breaststroke —7;) 3-ssec. —by 1 2-ssec. Opposed by R. Geddcs, one ofthe most brilliant performers over the distance in the Dominion, Dyson swam with fine judgment, and, reserving his spurt until just the right moment, won by 2 yards. As he has still two months to prepare for the centennial championships at Wellington, he should take a prominent position in the backstroke events.
