SWIMMING DECISION CRICKETER DEEMED PRO. Another example of the absurdities of the amateur rule was revealed at the Queensland Amateur Swimming Association Council meeting, says an exchange. Rex Rogers, well-known Sheffield Shield cricketer, was declared a professional in the light of the amateur swimming law. An application for affiliation witli the Q.A.S.A was received from the Eagors Recreation Club and was granted only after the name of Rex Rogers had been erased from the list of registered members. The chairman of the council, Mr. D. S. Carter, ruled that Rogers’ activities in big cricket made him a professional.
