TUBERCULOSIS CASES
SANATORIA FOR MAORIS •Following tiie Health Department's inquiries and examinations among members of the Maori race, it was reported to a meeting of the Wanganui Hospital Board that there would soon be need toe extra accommodation for tuberculosis patients. The board decided to forward to the New Zealand Hospital Boards’ Association a suggestion that sanatoria for Maori tuberculosis patients should be erected in both islands by the Health Department.
The chairman, Mr. W. E. Broderick, said that in the meantime it might be just, as Well for the board to await the return from abroad of Dr. Francis, the board's consulting specialist on tuberculosis. The Wanganui board was one of the boards most sc-riously a (Tec ted by the Maori cutest ion.
