NUMBER DECREASED
COMMITTEE TOO LARGE WINTER SHOW MEETING A decision to reduce the number on the committee from 16 members to eight was reached after a lengthy discussion last evening at the general meeting of the Poverty Bay Winter Show Association. The president, Mr. J. Eivers, was the chairman.
The notice of motion concerning the committee had been proposed by Mr. D. H. Whitton and seconded by Mr. A. H. Gordon and \?as carried unopposed. When the election of officers was being conducted it was decided that it would be out of order to bring into force the new ruling until its confirmation, and so all the nominations for the committee were accepted. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr. J. Eivers; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. T. G. Johns and D. H. Whitton; hon. auditor, Mr. C. Blackburn; executive, Mcsdames E. S. Redfearn, R. Keiha, C. F. Swain, C. W. Kirk, Messrs. A. H. Gordon, J. de V. W. Blathwayt, P. Sim, 11. E. Marrincr, C. King, W. W. Jonascn, J. L. Bcllcrby, and the Rev. R. C. Aires.
The appointment of Mr. 11. G. Tougher as a life member was approved, on the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr. Jonascn. A vote of thanks was accorded to the secretary, Mr. D. A. Wells, in view of his capable handling of the Show and the association’s affairs during his first year in the office. Appreciation of the work done by Mrs. A. Baillie in the past was placed on record.
