MILITARY CAMPS

USE OF PAPAKURA CHANGE NEXT MONTH Although it is not yet certain when the Papakura mobilisation camp will be reach’ for general occupation, it is definite’that within a few weeks a large proportion of the troops now in camp at Ifopuhopu will be transferred to tlie new quarters. The change will probably be made in the first week of November. It is intended that the Field Regiment of Artillery and the Divisional Cavalry will remain at Ifopuhopu and that all other units will move to Papakura. These will include the Ist New Zealand Rifle Battalion and will number about 1900 men, leaving about 800 men of the first echelon still at Hopuhopu As at present constituted, the capacity of Papakura will be tilled by the men who go from Hopuhopu. For the time being, therefore, no other men will go to the new camp white the 1900 are still there.
