FAST BOXING BOUT

WIN FOR JACK JARVIS PERCY KELLY BEATEN (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. In a brilliant exhibition of boxing, as distinguished from fighting, Jack Jarvis, of Wellington, outpointed Percy Kelly, of Auckland, last night. Kelly, who scaled 9st 941 b, had an advantage in weight of Tilb, but this was more than made up by Jarvis’ superior height and reach. Jarvis plied a good straight left in he early stages, but found the Aucklander 1 an elusive target with his crouching stance and ducking and weaving methods. Both men showed speed, and clever footwork kept them cut of a lot of heavy bombardments. Tarvis had the advantage with an upright Jim Mace stance which enabled him to stand over his span and hit with either hand from a shorter distance.
