HOKITIKA BOROUGH COUNCIL COMMITTEES

HOKITIKA, This Day (0.C.).--The newly-elected Hokitika Borough Council met last evening when the Mayor, Mr G. E. Perry and the councillors were sworn in. Mr Perry welcomed the new members. The following appointments were made:— Deputy-Mayor, Cr S. G. Havill; abattoir committee, Crs. S. J. Roberts (chair), D. Friedlander and R. C. Drummond; works committee, Crs S. G. Havill (chair), S. J. Roberts, J. B. Hood, W. H. Thompson and E. W. Heenan; reserves committee, Crs I. J. Preston (chair), E. W. Heenan, R. C. Drummond, M. J. Thomas and D Friedlander; waterworks committee, Crs S. G. Havill (chair), S. J. Roberts and W. H. Thompson; baths committee, Crs E. W. Heenan, M. G Thomas; Hokitika High School Board, Cr W. H. Thompson; delegate to Progress League, Cr I. J. Preston; Milk Zoning Board, Crs C. J. Roberts and D. Friedlander; library committee, Crs J. B. Hood and R. C. Drummond also Messrs A. V. O’Brien and G. Maunder; Hokitika Fire Board, Cr W H. Thompson; delegates to Canterbury Centenary celebrations, the Mayor and Mrs Perry, Cr and Mrs S G. Havill.
