Increase In Customs Returns At Greymouth
Collections at the Greymouth office of the Customs Department for the month of September and the quarterly period ending today showed an increase on the amounts for the corresponding periods last year. The monthly figures, with last September’s collections in brackets, were: —
Customs £11,320 (£9416); sales tax £8691 (£7199); petrol £4640 (£4323); miscellaneous £62 (£49); total £34,129 (£20,987). The quarterly returns were:—
Customs £29,374 (£26,270); sales tax £24,135 (£25,049); petrol £12,917 (£10,664); miscellaneous £154 (£204); total £66,580 (£62,187).
