Prison Terms For Grey Maintenance Defaulters
Terms of imprisonment, in default of payment, were imposed on two Greymouth men for the disobedience of maintenance orders, by Mr 'R. M. Grant, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Greymouth this morning. Kenneth Alexander a fisherman, was convicted and sentenced to’ two months’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended 'so long as current maintenance is paid and the arrears—£62—are reduced by the payment of £1 a week. The order is in respect of two children.
Norman Hopkins, a miner, was sentenced to seven days’ imprison.-, ment (for disobedience of an order in respect of a child), subject to the same conditions.
